There’s a lot to love about the new Cintiq Pro 24″. What I love about the new Wacom Cintiq Pro 24″
#CAN YOU USE A IPAD PRO AS A WACOM CINTQ MAC#
I have not tried any of the Cintiq’s most direct competitors, including the Dell Canvas (which is only available for Windows, which means it’s not even a possibility for me as a registered Mac FanBoy). Wacom Cintiq 24HD, Wacom Cintiq 13HD, iPad Pro 10.5 and 12.9, and the Surface Pro. I’ve used all these drawing tablets in the past, and all have their own unique strengths: Reduced size (though not screen size) in all the right places and much lighter design makes the Wacom Cintiq 24HD look like one of those old projection tvs you see on curbsides.98% Adobe RGB color performance, making color matching and calibration a joy.4K high-resolution screen, making it the highest resolution digital drawing tablet that I’m aware of, allowing you to fit more on your screen and providing a crisp and clear display.8,192 pressure levels using the new Pro Pen 2, 4 times the levels as my previous Wacom Cintiq 24HD.It is essetnailly a monitor that you draw on, and it is not a standalone computer with an operating system (though Wacom has created an addon that will allow for this). The Wacom Cintiq Pro 24″ is the newest digital drawing tablet for artists developed by Wacom in early 2018. I had high expectations for this digital drawing tablet, and it exceeded them all.

I’m upgrading from the Wacom Cintiq 24HD, which has severed me well for over six years (and is still ticking). When the iPad Pro and its Apple Pencil came out, it was begging for a new Duet that took advantage of the stylus' capabilities, which is exactly what Duet Pro offers.I have been using the Wacom Cintiq Pro 24″ extensively since early April 2018, and I absolutely love it. In addition to mirroring or extending the display, Duet also allowed for touch input to be relayed from iPad to computer.

Provided they already own an iPad Pro.ĭuet first revealed its Duet Display technology almost two years ago which turned any iOS device, be it an iPhone or, better yet, an iPad, into a second screen for a Mac and later on a Windows PC as well. Now artists on either side of the OS camp have a more accessible solution that isn't a compromise. The company's Cintiq line, which practically mirrors a PC or Mac screen underneath the glass, is more natural but costs a whole lot more. Although a lot older as well as a lot cheaper, Wacom's line of Intuos and Bamboo tablets are sometimes considered "unnatural" because of the disconnect between what you're drawing on and what you're looking at, unlike when you're drawing on paper. With Duet's new Duet Pro subscription, you can have all that without burning a hole through your pocket to buy a Wacom Cintiq. Such creators usually go to their Macs or PCs to do "real work", usually with a Wacom drawing tablet. But while the Pencil might be precise and accurate, the iPad Pro itself sometimes becomes the bottleneck, especially for illustrators and artists who need more muscle than the mobile device can provide. The iPad Pro and the Apple Pencil shook the tablet world, demonstrating that things that can be created digitally using a rather unassuming accessory.
